Annual General Meeting
The meeting follows a strict agenda and notice will be sent out in April to all members. The main features are to receive and adopt reports from the Commodore and the Secretary/Treasurer. Then follows the proposal and election of officers and committee. Lastly we normally have proposals for the level of subscriptions and berthing fees for the forthcoming season. There is no other business dealt with at the AGM unless it has been formally proposed and seconded and forwarded to the Hon Secretary according to the rules at least 21 days before the meeting.
The AGM is your opportunity to contribute to the running of the club. You can write or email the secretary with your proposals. These can include proposing people to sit on the general committee for example (see nomination form on the noticeboard) or you may wish to propose that the club take a certain course of action. As long as it is in the agenda and everyone knows about it from the notice of meeting, the matter can be discussed and voted on. You may wish to put your name forward for a particular role. We do need new people and new ideas to take the club forward now that the club extension has been finished with the help of Sport England.
